1984 Gatsby Griffin/Sceptre-Very Rare !!!
In 10 years we have only ever had one other Gatsby Griffin & one Sceptre. These are really rare cars, with only 15 Sceptre cars ever built-by Tom Mcburnie in 1978. Then he sold the molds to Gatsby Coachworks of San Jose, Ca. They built between 50 & 60 cars total & stopped around 1992, & then sold everything to JPR Cars Ltd, in VA The car is styled after the 30s Talbo Lago, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Bugatti, etc. One of the cleanest lines of any Neo-Classic ever built. This car was built in 1984, using a 1974 Ford Torino chassis, The engine is the big 351 Cleveland V8. automatic, air conditioning & heat, power brakes & steering, Dayton-Real knock off wire wheels, rear mounted spare w/cover, roll up side windows & side vent windows, tilt seats with headrests, 3 wipers, new am/fm stereo w/casette & power antenna, has 1969 Camaro working-[ice cube] hood vents, wood dash, leather wrapped steering wheel, 7 classic white faced guages with brass bezels, dual side cowl lamps, 3 rear view mirrors, nice rich 2 tone burgundy body w/black fenders, black seats & top & top boot. Side supercharger pipes, & working side 60s Corvette exhaust 1974 Ford title makes it exempt from emissions in most states. JPR Cars is bringing back the Griffin around the spring of 2003. Ray Kenney, the designer of the Clenet, created the classic exterior lines of the Griffin. What a cool cool car. Cost was well over $60,000. back in 1984.
