This is one of the rarest of all replicas ever built, & only our 2nd one in 10 years !! The body, custom frame etc., are from Thoroughbred Motor Cars in Mt.Dora, Florida. The package was started in 1992 & completed around 1993 or later, & has a very unique title that does read- 1955 Mercedes, which is very rare & make the car exempt from all the emissions hassles in most states. The last owner decided he wanted to put in a new engine, so in 2001, a brand new 5.0 liter 302 Ford V8 engine was installed, & comes with most of the bills. Well over $8,000. was spent for the new engine, transmission rebuilt, new radiator, new air shocks, new Jensen am/fm/stereo w/cassette, & many other new parts. Automatic transmission, power brakes & steering, has the removeable rear pontoon headrests, that look really great, & has new small side racing exhaust stacks on each side, similar to the million dollar originals, has a Nardi wood steering wheel, wood dash, roll up side windows, & many authentic Mercedes emblems, chrome engine dress up kit, chrome rims with wire baskets, side vent windows, & a custom canvas convertible top, with removeable rear window, that fits over the pontoons. This car was just driven 3 hours, to our showroom, from Ft Meyers Florida & didnt miss a beat at 70+ MPH-no overheating, & no shakes either. This car is in great shape, for being 12 years old, but does have a few normal stone chips that have been touched up. Black dyed canvas convertible top. Top bows come apart & it all fits behind the seats, & has a decent size trunk as well.
